{having fun in the sun on Alki beach}

Hello friends.  I apologize for the sporadic posting this month.  I know it's actually been like that for the last couple of months.  Instead of just leaving this space blank for so long, I thought I'd let you know what's going on.  The hours in my part time job that I work increased earlier this year and I was still able to keep up, but then my computer started acting up and now it takes forever and a day to load pictures.  I haven't been able to fix it as of yet.  I'm also working out six days a week at the gym and enjoying the time I get to spend with my husband since his retirement, so my time on the blog has been a little sparse.  I thought I'd let you know that it might still be a little sporadic throughout the summer, or not if I get on a whim, but I'm not giving up blogging altogether.  I plan to be back full force in the fall.  If you'd like to connect with me personally you can become my friend on Facebook.  I visit there quite often.  Hope you are all having a wonderful summer!

Goodmorning Sunshine!

Monday, June 21, 2010

I saw this print on Spring today and I really need it.  It is the first official day of Summer and the sun is still nowhere to be found here in Seattle, Washington.  I guess I'll have to bring my own sunshine, because if I don't it might get pretty depressing around here.  Sunshine, please come out to play and show your face today!

Thursdays Creative Thrift

Thursday, June 10, 2010

It's been a little while since I have posted for Thursdays Creative Thrift and with summer coming upon us, I thought you might be itchen' for some new ideas to be creative with all that free time your going to have. I know I am, and after June 13th, some of my time to be creative and to be blogging a little more regularly will be freed up again. Yeah! because I've been missing you all.

 Annekata gives a tutorial on her blog for making this fabric tape out of an old blouse her child had never worn.  Absolutely brilliant!  I love that there is never a shortage of creative ideas out there in blog world to be found.

Standing Still for Awhile

Friday, June 4, 2010

Dreaming dreams and not knowing where I'm going and that's okay.  Holding on to the hand that leads me, standing still and listening, breathing and being aware, keeping my eyes on the universe creator, star breather, soul lover...Jesus.  Praying for a soft and loving heart.  Love you guys.  Have a great weekend!

Some of you may be enjoying warm summer weather, but where I live, it has been nothing but rain, rain, rain.  The cotton candy colors of these sorbet cups & spoons, I saw on hooray yesterday are sure to brighten anyone's day, as they certainly do mine.

Morning walk on the beach

As you might have noticed, I took an un-announced break last week.  I had a great time in Cannon Beach, Oregon with my friends last weekend and had alot of time to ponder and think over the week and the weekend and get things in gear for some life changes around here at the Allam's house.  Sometimes when big changes in life come along for me, it's hard for me to concentrate on the little extra's like blogging.  My husband is a few years older than me and he just retired from the Post Office after almost 30 years of service on Friday.  Now I have two people in my household, my son and my husband, deciding what they wanna be when they grow up and it's been a little stressful for me.  I don't always take kindly to the unknown, although I do like adventures so I'm gearing up my attitude for that.  I'm excited for what's to come and for our new adventure in life together.  We have a few plans, so we'll see how it all pans out.  See you soon with more fun things to follow.
